About Us

Established in 1954, the Collins Bay and District Horticultural Society was accepted in 1959 as part of District 3 - Frontenac, Hastings, Leeds, Lennox & Addington, Prince Edward of the Ontario Horticultural Association.  We have been serving our community for 68 years, and have been an officially registered horticultural society for 63 years.

Our group has many long-term members.  Some of our members have been with us as long as 50 years!  We enjoy camaraderie and sharing our garden stories.  We are always pleased to welcome new members.

What We Do
We meet monthly, bringing in guest speakers to talk about all things horticulture, and share our gardening stories.  We also have flower and plant shows each year, in June and September.  We hold a plant sale for the public in May, which helps sustain our local society.

Our members also volunteer their time maintaining local gardens at the following locations:

  • Loyalist Parkway Gates, by Fairfield Park, Amherstview
  • Front Road and Bayridge Drive, Kingston.

Please Support Our Local Gardening Centres
The following local garden centres offer our members a 10% discount on live goods if your membership card is shown before the sale is entered in the cash register (some may only accept cash or debit, please check as some other conditions may apply)

  • Canadian Tire Garden Centres, 59 Bath Road (Kingston Centre) and 2560 Princess St (Cataraqui)
  • Potter's Nurseries, 690 Golden Mile Road, Kingston
  • Chartreuse Flower Works, 577 Division Street, Kingston
