About Us
Established in 1954, the Collins Bay and District Horticultural Society was accepted in 1959 as part of District 3 - Frontenac, Hastings, Leeds, Lennox & Addington, Prince Edward of the Ontario Horticultural Association. We have been serving our community for 68 years, and have been an officially registered horticultural society for 63 years.
Our group has many long-term members. Some of our members have been with us as long as 50 years! We enjoy camaraderie and sharing our garden stories. We are always pleased to welcome new members.
What We Do
We meet monthly, bringing in guest speakers to talk about all things horticulture, and share our gardening stories. We also have flower and plant shows each year, in June and September. We hold a plant sale for the public in May, which helps sustain our local society.
Our members also volunteer their time maintaining local gardens at the following locations:
